If you are playing World of Warcraft: The War Within, you might be wondering how to reach this new zone. It isn’t right on your map when you first start. You need to follow a few steps to find the entrance.

Prerequisites and Starting Quests
You cannot just walk into Undermine at level 1. Because this is a high-level zone added later in the expansion, you need to meet a few requirements first.
Before you try to go there, make sure you have done the following:
- Reach Level 80: This is a max-level zone. You need to be level 80 to survive the enemies down there.
- Finish the Campaign: You usually need to finish the main story quests for the The War Within base game. This means completing the storyline in Azj-Kahet.
- Pick up the Intro Quest: When the Undermine content is live, you will get a quest automatically. If not, go to the main city, Dornogal. Look for a quest marker on your map that talks about “goblin trouble” or a “new discovery” deep underground.
Once you have the quest, you are ready to travel.
How to Travel from Dornogal and Azj-Kahet
The path to Undermine starts in the main hub of the expansion, Dornogal.
- Start in Dornogal: Go to the flight master in the city.
- Fly to Azj-Kahet: Undermine is located deep below the zone of Azj-Kahet. Take a flight path to the southern part of Azj-Kahet. The closest flight point is usually The Weaver’s Lair.
- Find the Tunnel: Follow your quest marker. It will lead you to a large elevator or tunnel entrance on the edge of the zone. This is the gateway to the goblin city.
- Enter the City: Head through the tunnel. You will see a loading screen or a transition, and then you will arrive in the bright neon lights of Undermine.
If you have already unlocked the zone on one character, there might be a portal available in Dornogal. Check the portal room or the engineering area in the city to see if a fast-travel option is open for you.
Unlock Flight Paths Immediately
The Undermine is a big place. It is built vertically, meaning there are many layers of streets and tunnels. You do not want to run everywhere on foot.
As soon as you arrive, look for the Flight Master. They are usually right near the entrance or in the main central plaza. Click on them to learn the flight path.
This is very important. If you use your Hearthstone to leave, you want to be able to fly back quickly without running through the tunnels again.
